OBJECTIVE: 1) Students will diagram the atoms of a water molecule in order to discuss why water molecules are polar. 2) Students will describe mixtures in order to differentiate between solutions and suspensions. 3) Students will describe pH in order to differentiate between acidic and basic solutions.
WARM-UP: Use the structure of a water molecule to explain why it is polar.
CLASSWORK: 1) Teacher demonstration of mixtures, 2) pH Lab, 3) Section 2-1 Worksheet
HOMEWORK DUE: Read Chapter 2
TONIGHT'S HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 2, Section 2-1 Worksheet, Cover Book, Lab Fee (by next Wed. and Thursday).
